Hello! I hope you are well. Thank you for reading our blog. So, as you may or may not know, LowDown Film Festival will be held over a large(ish) area here in sunny Cambridgeshire. Our plan is to really give indie filmmakers; and our guests and attendee’s, an experience to remember, making LowDown the 1st date in filmmakers calendars.
So, to that end, I wanted to update you on what we have confirmed so far.
We are looking for 100 brave people (I have put my name down for this btw!) to cross some flaming coals (for charity I should add) and walk in the burning tyre tracks of a DeLorean time machine. Not bad eh?
We have several Panels and Workshops already confirmed. We have workshops on Digital FX, Practical Effects (such as scars, blood, gore etc), Wildlife Filming & Writing, which will be amazing. There are plenty more to come.
We are working on some very special movie props as well as some guests, to help keep everyone in check! You may need The Force to help you with them!
We have 2 traders already confirmed as well (although we are limiting these to approx. 10), with Geekology Events; who do Funko Pops! And other assorted wares (and who are one of our sponsors) and SorellaPrint; who produce film and tv based tee’s, hoodies, vests, cups etc (and who are also one of our official sponsors, and have very kindly supplied us with our CREW tees for the event!).
We are looking to deliver Silent Cinema as well as a Drive-In cinema experience in a very unique, very surreal setting, showing some truly inspirations films to really tie in the area in which the festival will be held. These will be unique and definitely something to experience.
We have some musical artists booked who will be playing their own versions of some of the most recognised movie scores around. These will absolutely be something to kick back with a drink at the Admiral Wells; our hub, our heart, our base, and enjoy.
Finally, we have the amazing Street Arts Hire (Winner of Peterborough’s Small Business of the Year) producing some amazing movie themed street art around the festival.
With so much more to come over the coming months, we are shaping up to be something that everyone will enjoy, and that everyone will be able to take something away, from skills, knowledge or some excellent gifts.
That’s it for now! More to follow……
